Audio Units (AU)
Logic Pro and GarageBand load Audio Units only. Every plugin here installs as a native Apple Silicon and Intel AU, so it runs in Logic without Rosetta.
The real plugin engine, running in your browser: same DSP code and presets as the VST3/AU/AAX.

No. Logic Pro only loads Audio Units, so make sure the AU component is installed.
Yes. Pump, Spread and the Keys electric piano are free and install as native Audio Units, so they run in Logic Pro (Logic Pro X is the older name) on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. Logic also ships with stock plugins, including Channel EQ, Compressor, ChromaVerb and Alchemy. Any free plugin you add must come as an AU.
Logic's own Channel EQ, Compressor, DeEsser 2, ChromaVerb and Pitch Correction cover a full vocal chain. For a faster route, Velvet puts low cut, de-esser, compression, presence, air, saturation, doubling and reverb in one AU, and Tune adds real-time pitch correction with in-key harmonies. Both load in an Audio FX slot on the vocal channel strip.
Yes. Logic Pro 11 added ChromaGlow, a saturation plugin with several analog-style models, and Logic has long included Overdrive, Distortion, Phat FX and Bitcrusher. Heat adds tape, tube, transistor, fuzz and rectify modes, a soft clipper and level-matched drive, and it loads as a native AU in any Audio FX slot.
