VST3
FL Studio loads VST3 plugins on Windows and macOS. These cover the jobs FL producers search for most: taming harsh S sounds on vocals, lo-fi and bitcrushed textures, and sidechain pumping without mixer routing.
The real plugin engine, running in your browser: same DSP code and presets as the VST3/AU/AAX.

Yes. FL Studio loads VST2 and VST3 plugins on Windows, and VST3 and AU on macOS.
Velvet has a de-esser built into its vocal chain. It only turns down the 5 kHz-and-up band when an S hits, and you control it with one knob.
Yes. All of our plugins come as VST3, which FL Studio loads on Windows and macOS. Effects go on a Mixer insert, and the instruments (Nova, Thump and Keys) load from the Channel Rack. Pump, Spread and Keys are free, and every preset of every plugin plays in the browser before you install anything.
Pump, Spread and Keys are free, with VST3 versions for FL Studio. For anything else, download from the developer's own site, never from re-upload pages, which are a common source of malware. After installing, open Options → Manage plugins, click Find installed plugins and star the new plugin so it shows in your browser.
Start with FL Studio's own 3x Osc and FLEX, then add well-known free synths such as Surge XT, Vital and TAL-NoiseMaker, which all load in FL Studio. For paid options, Hydra is a hybrid synth built for growling and talking basses and 808s, and Nova covers leads, pads and basses, with Reese Bass, Sub Bass and Acid Line presets. Stack adds bass amp tone to recorded bass guitar.
