Free Autotune Software for Windows, Mac, Browser and Phone
Updated 4 min read
The best free autotune software depends on where you work. In a DAW on Windows or Mac, use a free plugin such as Graillon (free edition) or MAutoPitch. On a Mac, Logic Pro and GarageBand already include pitch correction. With no DAW at all, a browser tool like our free online autotune tunes a recording and gives you a WAV back.
Below: every solid free option sorted by platform, what free versions usually leave out, how free trials compare, and when it's worth paying. If you already have a free tool and need setup steps, how to get autotune covers each DAW, and the best autotune plugin roundup compares the paid options.

Free autotune plugins for any DAW
Graillon from Auburn Sounds comes in a free edition with real-time pitch correction that loads in any DAW that runs VST3 or AU plugins. It's a popular pick for the hard-tune sound on rap and pop vocals.
MAutoPitch from MeldaProduction is a straightforward free pitch corrector with the controls you need: speed, depth, a scale to snap to, and a dry/wet mix. It's a good first plugin if you want natural correction rather than an effect.
Download both from the developer's own website. Search results for a free autotune software download are full of mirror sites that bundle extra installers, and the real installers are free anyway.
Mac autotune: Logic Pro and GarageBand
On a Mac you may not need to download anything. Logic Pro includes Pitch Correction in the Pitch section of the Audio FX menu for real-time tuning, plus Flex Pitch for editing single notes. GarageBand has a Pitch Correction slider in the audio track's settings, with a Limit to Key option. It's simple, but it does the job on demos and podcasts.
Autotune for Windows and FL Studio
On Windows, the two free plugins above are the main options, and both work in FL Studio, Ableton Live, Reaper and Cubase. FL Studio users may already have stock tuning: Pitcher handles real-time correction and NewTone handles note editing, depending on your edition. Ableton users on a recent version of Live 12 should check for Auto Shift, a built-in pitch-correction device.
Pro Tools is the exception: it only loads AAX plugins, so check the format before you install. Our Pro Tools install guide explains the folders.
Free autotune with no DAW: browser and phone
If you just want to tune one recording, skip the DAW. Our online autotune runs in Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox: record or upload a vocal, pick the song's key and scale, choose a style from Hard Tune to Subtle Fix, and download the result as a WAV. Nothing to install and no signup.
BandLab, a free online and mobile studio, includes an AutoPitch effect if you'd rather record on your phone and keep working in an app.
What free autotune software leaves out
Free tools correct pitch well. The gaps show up in the details that make tuning sound natural or save you time:
- Fewer scales: some only offer chromatic, major and minor, so modal and pentatonic melodies snap to the wrong notes.
- Less control on held notes: without a humanize control, long notes lose their vibrato at fast settings.
- No formant control: transposing a voice makes it sound like a chipmunk or a slowed-down tape.
- No note editing: real-time tools can't move one wrong note by hand. That's a graphical editor's job.
- Fewer presets: you start from a blank plugin every time.
Here is what a full control set adds. Tune's Transparent Fix preset uses the Major scale, a 120 ms Retune, 60% Humanize and 80% Correction, so pitch tightens while vibrato and small drifts survive.

Autotune free trial vs free software
A free trial gives you the full paid tool for a limited time. Free software is yours to keep with fewer features. If you're deciding whether to pay, run a trial on the same vocal you tuned with a free plugin and listen for the difference on long notes and fast runs. If you can't hear one, the free tool is enough for now.
- Antares offers trials of Auto-Tune. Check their site for the current length and terms.
- Tune skips the downloadable trial: every preset already plays on its product page with your own microphone, through the plugin's own engine, including the Hard Tune sound below.

Once the vocal is tuned, the rest of the chain matters as much as the tuning. Our vocal plugins guide covers what comes next, and the autotune plugins hub collects every pitch-correction option on one page.
FAQ
What is the best free autotune software?
For a plugin that runs in any DAW on Windows or Mac, Graillon's free edition and MAutoPitch are the two most common picks. On a Mac, Logic Pro's Pitch Correction and GarageBand's pitch control are already installed. Without a DAW, a browser tool such as our online autotune works on any computer or phone.
Is there a free autotune for Windows?
Yes. MAutoPitch and Graillon's free edition both run on Windows in any DAW that loads VST3 plugins, including FL Studio, Ableton Live and Reaper. FL Studio also includes Pitcher or NewTone, depending on your edition.
Does Auto-Tune have a free trial?
Antares offers trials of Auto-Tune; check their site for the current length and terms. Our Tune plugin has no downloadable trial; instead, every preset plays on its product page with your own microphone, using the same engine as the plugin.
Is there a free autotune voice changer?
Yes, within limits. Our free online autotune's Robot Voice preset gives a flat, mechanical tone, and the free online pitch shifter makes a voice deeper or higher by semitones. For formant changes that make a voice sound like a different person, such as Tune's Deep Voice and Giant presets, you need a plugin with formant control.
Is free autotune software safe to download?
The legitimate free plugins are, as long as you download them from the developer's own website. Avoid cracked copies of paid plugins: pirated installers are a common way to spread malware.
Can free autotune sound professional?
Yes, for real-time correction and the hard-tune effect. Free tools usually give you fewer scales, fewer controls for natural results and no note-by-note editing, so they take a bit more care on exposed ballad vocals. On a rap hook or a pop topline, a well-set free plugin is hard to tell apart from a paid one.
